At the core of Wengwa Rainforest Discovery's mission is the comprehensive documentation and preservation of the rich biodiversity found within the Jingmai Mountain rainforest.

Over this years, the company has conducted extensive ethnobotanical surveys to catalog the diverse array of edible, medicinal, and dye-producing plant species that thrive in the region's four distinct Rainforest layers. With more than 200 ingredients (forgoten or unknown), Wengwa rainforest create unique culinary experiences.

The team

Our research team brings together multidisciplinary scientific expertise and deep local knowledge to document, preserve, and revitalize the cultural and ecological heritage of the Jingmai region.

The team includes botanists, environmental scientists, anthropologists, and artists working in close partnership with representatives and community members from the Blang, Dai, Hani, Lahu, and Wa ethnic groups. This combination of perspectives ensures that our work is rigorous, culturally grounded, and useful to the people who live in and steward these landscapes.
